Recent SFS Consulting Engagements
Contingent Labor Program Optimization. The client, a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company, had previously selected MSP (managed service provider) and VMS (vendor management system) providers to support their $100M+ contingent labor program. The client brought SFS consultants in to validate the selections, help optimize the temporary staffing strategy and to develop an SOW (statement of work) spend operational strategy. SFS collaborated with and lead a cross-functional stakeholder group to optimize existing spend management and to expand the program scope to include SOW spend. Additionally, SFS consultants renegotiated the scope of services and commercial terms with key program vendors. With SFS support, the client met their internal savings and operational efficiency objectives. The core project deliverables were completed in approximately 8 months and the SFS team stayed engaged for an additional 6 months monitoring progress and analyzing results.
Establish Contingent Labor Program. The client, a large parts and service provider to the automotive industry, engaged SFS to assess the performance and future viability of their temporary staffing strategy and operations. Based upon the findings and recommendations made to the procurement stakeholders, the scope of the SFS engagement shifted to the conversion of a simple category management approach to the development of a new program management strategy. SFS lead the initiative to establish the new contingent labor program model and to select an MSP and a VMS provider to manage the program. SFS was also retained to coordinate and lead implementation efforts for the MSP service layer and the VMS technology layer.
Strategic Sourcing of IT Support Services. The client, a Fortune 500 technology firm, was facing renewal of a key IT services support contract. The client engaged SFS to assess the current contract terms and vendor performance. SFS recommended that the client strategically source the outsourced IT service need in order to upgrade service delivery expectations and to ensure optimal geographic coverage and pricing. The assessment and sourcing took approximately 3.5 months. A new provider was selected and service levels and geographic coverage was materially increased.
